QuantumCast™ Cast Urethane Surpasses Conventional RTV Urethane Casting

The QuantumCast™ Cast Urethane process is a proprietary technology developed by Solid Concepts that yields strong, stable and void-free pre-production and short-run production parts. This next generation polyurethane technology uniquely applies vacuum, heat and pressure to create optimum mechanical properties that surpass conventional RTV urethane castings. With QuantumCast Cast Urethanes, get the speed and versatility of platinum-cured silicone molds along with the superb mechanical properties of Solid Concepts' Advanced Formula Polymer (AFP) materials. This multi-step technology is only offered by Solid Concepts, the largest polymer casting operation in North America – both in terms of production capacity and part size capabilities.

The complex over-molded face mask featured above showcases both flexible and rigid QuantumCast materials, AFP3400 (Rigid Shore 70 D) and E1060AL (Flexible Shore A). Cast-in color and texture give the mask's finishing treatments additional resilience for long-lasting aesthetic appeal.
