SOLID CONCEPTS SOON TO OFFER HIGH-TEMPERATURE LASER SINTERING

Solid Concepts Inc, a supplier of rapid prototyping and direct digital manufacturing services, is acquiring an EOSINT P 800 and will be running high performance PEEK material. Solid Concepts will be the only service provider in North America to offer High Temperature Laser Sintering. The High Temperature Laser Sintering process is operated at temperatures up to 725°F (385°C), allowing for elevated performance properties in the resulting parts. What sets High Temperature Laser Sintering apart from traditional Laser Sintering processes are the elevated temperatures required during the build process, high performance material used, and improved characteristics of resulting products.

High Temperature Laser Sintering technology will be available with the world’s first true high-performance polymer - PEEK. The PEEK material offers numerous exceptional properties including high tensile strength, resistance to fire, lightness and biocompatibility. This unique combination of properties makes this material suitable for a wide variety of industries including automotive, aerospace, medical and industrial engineering. High Temperature Laser Sintering has opened a new door for designers and engineers, integrating layer additive technology with elite high performance materials.
